The Replogle Reso Mando/Uke Series biscuit-bridge style cone is hand spun in California to exacting specifications and high tolerances using a special hardened aluminum alloy for maximum strength, tone, projection, and sustain. Until recently, Replogle cones have only been available directly to custom builders and manufacturers; now, these "Original Equipment" (OEM) cones are available directly to individual players and builders around the world.
The small 8" biscuit-style cone diameter delivers the projection and sustain characteristic of the traditional vintage Dobro mandolins. Mike Replogle learned the art of hand-spinning resonators directly from "the Old Man," an old-school metal spinner who immigrated to the US and was the spinner-behind-the-scenes for nearly every resonator since the 1960's. Replogle studied, practiced, and perfected his hand-spinning technique under the direct tutelage of the Old Man in his retirement, preserving the legacy of the authentic Dobro cones for future generations.
The Replogle Reso Mando/Uke Series biscuit-bridge style cone is hand spun in California, with a diameter of 8 3/16" and a height of approximately 1". The biscuit platform measures approximately 2.25" in diameter. This special hardened aluminum alloy construction ensures maximum strength, tone, projection, and sustain, delivering the projection and sustain characteristics of the traditional vintage Dobro mandolins.
Until recently, these "Original Equipment" (OEM) cones have only been available directly to custom builders and manufacturers. Now, individual players and builders around the world can access these high-quality, hand-spun resonator cones. The history behind the Replogle cones is equally impressive, as Mike Replogle learned the art of hand-spinning resonators directly from "the Old Man," an experienced metal spinner who was instrumental in the production of nearly every resonator since the 1960's. Replogle's dedication to preserving the legacy of authentic Dobro cones through his own hand-spinning expertise ensures that this critical component of vintage-inspired instruments will be available for generations to come.
